(rant) Ugh. That is the last time I go anywhere public with my mother. Last night at the my work's Christmas do was just the absolute limit. The food was cold when it was brought out, my mother decided to open her mouth and shout a lot, (which meant I found myself constantly telling her to keep it down and also appologising to the others for her behaviour), and the service was absolutely dire. That wasn't the worst part of it however. Since I was on a table with three other people around my age (sitting next to my mother on an ajoining table), the topic turned inevitably towards boyfriends/girlfriends and so forth. Everyone immediately got out their phones and showed around photos of their respective partners. When asked if I had a boyfriend, I shook my head and shrugged, telling them that I wasn't altogether too interested in men. To which, (to my utter irritation) my mother shouts; "You'd better not be going bloody 'funny' on me." I didn't even bother to answer her. I swear I was ready to walk out just there. It was just the way she said it that irritated me the most, not from the fact that I was at all offended that she had asked me it in the first place....(/rant)
Today was the last day of college. I now have two full, fantastic weeks of just revising without having to leave the house except for work if I don't want to. I'm having a skylight put in my section of the attic, so for the entirity of today and tomorrow the entire house has been rather cold. I ended up making some fingerless gloves that I'm now able to wear whilst typing. I'm going to put up some boarding soon as well in order to keep the majority of the draughts out. It's about time...>.<
I still have one more present to get, and I still need to wrap all but one of the presents I've already bought. Fun fun fun. I've made a point of buying mostly rectangular objects this year, as I'm hopeless at wrapping anything else. ^^; I'll do it all tomorrow when I get back from town. (That's probably going to be a lie. Last year I was wrapping presents on Christmas Day). But still, it's the thought that counts, not the wrapping paper, right?
Regards until next entry!
