I went into Age Concern today in order to try and find some books on the Politics of Early Modern Europe, and ended up being asked to work there as a volounteer by the Manageress. I politely declined, but got a tour of the storeoom and whatnot anyway. I was rather flattered, but I don't have the time to do any unpaid work at the moment.
I ended up going to Charington books (Just off Queens Road) and getting a few books from there based loosely on the History topics I'm writing for my assessment, as well as a BCA copy of 'Legends' that I've been after for a while. The lot of 5 books cost me £3.50, which was at least £2 off the actual price of them. The guy who works there has also said he'll keep his ear to the ground for a paid job for me as well, which I thought was kind of him.
Well, I've written up my History Assessment plan today, at least. (As well as most of the introduction). I figure I can do about 200 words or so a day and get it done within a week, so I can then start on my -next- assignment, and so on and so forth.
