Yes, yes. I've changed the layout of my blog. I was looking at the old layout for a few minutes today, before really realising that it said absolutely nothing about me whatsoever. So I made a new one. And I use the term 'made' loosely. It was more a case of getting a pre-made layout and tweaking it. But the banner is something I made myself, as primitive as it is, it took me quite a while. I needed to dust off my PSP9 first, which took an age. It's completely true what they say about lack of practice making you go rusty. Ah well. It's decent enough.
The banner got me thinking a little, though. I wanted to put on it a few things that represented me. I suppose to give my blog a more personal feel...but everything seems a little...old to me now. It's a little sad that I can be more or less categorised with three things. A Quill, and Wolf and a Lighthouse. There's so much more to me than a few inanimate objects, and yet that is how people perceive me. I guess it's true what they say in that we all try to put things into boxes, to some extent. It strikes me as odd that people who say they know me well...don't know the small quirks that make me. I guess it all comes down to how much people care in order to strike up a regular conversation with me and find these things out.
I got some Mylar covers in the post yesterday, so tomorrow I'll be covering some of my first edition books. I've been after some for quite a long while, and I can tell I'm going to have to check on the 'net for how to actually apply them to the dust jackets. Whilst on the subject of books, I also got a beautiful signed bookplate from Anne McCaffrey yesterday as well. I've sent her an email thanking her...but I'm still curious as to who the artist of the dragon on the front of it is. It isn't a design I recognise from any of the books. Ah well.
