Well, my last ever first-year University lecture happened this morning. This academic year has just flown by so quickly it's almost disturbing. It's odd to think that this time last year I was still at college, slaving away at exams. It seems like a lifetime behind me now. In a few months I'll be in my own rented house, having to cook for myself and making sure I pay my bill on time. I would never have imagined that I would grow so much as a person within the space of a year, either. I seem to look at things from a different, bigger perspective now...but without losing the personal touch that people have said they like about me. I don't get irritated very easily either. I've grown to be calmer and more laid back, for the most part. Que Sera Sera.
I received back a passage analysis of an Old English text I had to do, and was wincing all the way through the notes of it. It seems as though for all my concentration and hard work still ended up with me getting most of the terms wrong. But because I'd tried to hard, I still managed to get a 2.1 grade, which I was beyond pleased with. I guess it's easier to get a better grade if you don't know a lot about what you're writing about...since that drives you to research more than you would if you already knew things. At least I'm hoping that theory is correct. -Chuckles-
Oh, and I've decided to come back home for the weekend as well. It's only £11.90 for a return ticket on the train from Leicester to Derby, and with a bit of luck the Legion will be putting on their usual May Day Fete on Monday. If not I still have plenty of woodwork to do now I have a new pyrographer (W0ot!), and I also have a questionnaire I need to ask my aduly family members to fill in for my last English Assignment.
