Well, my trip to see my Nana on the Isle of Wight draws ever closer. I went clothes shopping today in order to get a few bits for the holiday. That includes...-drumroll- a pair of knee length shorts. Perhaps that's odd to add in a blog, but it's a big deal for me. The last time I wore shorts as a piece of regular holiday clothing (as opposed to part of a costume) was a few years ago in Tenerife. (Bearing in mind this was pre-University and during gym, and I was therefore in much better shape). I'm going to join a sports society next year, however. I wanted to do rugby, but I can't be bothered with the risk it puts my knee under. Perhaps something like fencing would be quite cool to do. I'll have to scrutinise the different clubs at the next freshers fayre.
I did meet up with Chloe yesterday. It was severely odd. In the three years since I've seen her, she's changed quite a bit. She now has long hair instead of a short bob (the sort of long hair I used to have, although mine would have been up in a pony tail as opposed to free), and a surprisingly angular face. She's lost all of her childhood weight. Her eyes seem to be quite a bit darker than mine, but her fingers are long and slender, and her height is more or less how tall I was seven years ago. The strange thing is, in those three years or so...she hasn't really aged mentally. Oh, she has academically of course...but she still talks about things in exactly the same way. She's more like mother in that regard...she exaggerates and pretends to know things that she gets wrong. It's a habit I forcibly grew myself out of, but it's persisted with her. Still, apart from being slightly odd, it was certainly not as uncomfortable as the meeting with my mother.
Hm, what else in the world of Tath? Not an awful amount really, except that I've started to learn a 'Wicked' song on the guitar (chords), and I had a slice of toast with real butter on it this evening...it was almost toe-curlingly good. Simple things and all that, but still.
My homework for tomorrow will be me trying desperately to figure out a way of packing my favourite sandals and my wonderful blue fleece to take with me to the Isle of Wight without my Nana seeing and deciding that now would be a good time to throw them away or take them off me. >.>
