Or rather, a good lump of money from the car boot sale Uncle and I did today. £116 altogether, which isn't bad considering I got rid of stuffs that I was more or less just going to throw away or give to charity anyway. That overpaid on the new digital camera I bought yesterday...and I must say said camera is just...wonderful. All the images are really sharp, and it's really easy to use. Thus, I'll probably start punctuating the writing in this blog by some pictures. That'd be nice...break up the monotony of me droning on a little bit.
I'm currently in the living room, having been relegated to the sofa this evening. My cousin, Nathan is having a sleepover, and he's using my bed, so I very kindly said I'd sleep in here. It's not as bad as all that really, even if I am starting to stick to the sofa because of the heat. (It's been almost unbearable this evening. During the day it's fine, but at night the last thing I want to be is mithered). In any case, I'm here and in the morning I get to go to a garden centre, of all places. (Fun).
I've been in contact with my half sister and her father over the past couple of days. I told myself time and again that it'd be best to just let things lie as they are...but I sent her a birthday card this year (she turned twelve years old today) and she decided to ring me last night. It's odd to think that I've seen her twice in the past five years, and each of those only for brief moments. We used to be rather close...or rather, I used to care for her when my mother was unable to after Chloe's father left. (She lives with him now, long story). I'd like to meet up with her, but I'm actually worried it'll just be like it was with mum. Nothing in common at all and rather awkward. Still...I'm going to take a chance. I think I deserve to let myself do that.
Oh, and in other news that is cool to no-one but me...I finally finished whittling a spoon for re-enactment...It's taken me so long it's not even funny, and it's very, very rough and a little shoddy, but it'll work at least, which means I won't have to use one of the levy ones. I'd like to get my own whittling and farriers knives eventually so I no longer have to use a stanley knife. ¬.¬, so they're now high up on my list.
