I've had a busy couple of days, dear reader. Well, not so much yesterday, but I was out all day Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday I met up with an old friend for school and we went to see 'Get Smart' at the new cinema. It was better than I thought it was going to be, t'be honest. There were some fantastic lines in it, and they pulled off the spoof element really well. Instead of going home after, I ended up going to the Blessington Carriage with him to meet up with some of his friends. (Ironically, there were a few people I knew from college there as well, which was cool). We came about halfway in the Pub Quiz, which is where teams I'm in usually manage to get to. -Chuckles- the only question I knew was about Olympic Swimmer Rebecca Addlington. Unfortunately, TV and gossip aren't my things. I enjoyed myself immensely, even though I was on water and juice all evening. A nice glass of pear cider would have gone down nicely, but alas, I'm being careful with that sort of stuffs.
After the Bless, Richard and I went to a chap's house that Rich knew, and we sat around playing poker and watching DVD's. Rich went out of the room in order to get a drink, and the other chap turns to me and says; "I really want to kiss you." now, in the moment, I probably shouldn't have laughed. Something to do with the male ego, I think...but I've heard that line before from a certain RAF officer, and those memories just came flooding back. I politely told him 'ah...no', and we went back to playing poker. Then a half-hour later, Rich decides to divulge that he has a crush on me, and has had for years.
Goddamnit. I ought to be flattered and happy, right? Rich himself is one of the sorts of guys old fashioned women like myself ought to hold onto tightly. Good job prospects, good looking, kind, genuine...he even wants to retire to the country for crying out loud. So why is it when he said that I felt all twitchy and tense for the rest of the evening? I confuse even myself sometimes, so I feel sorry for any guys that try to get to know me. Jeez.

Thursday took me away from the drama of guys, (huzzah), when I went to meet a couple of people from my old Law class - including the lecturer, Kay - at the Big Blue Cafe on Saddler gate. Three pots of tea and a good chat later, (see? I can be sociable, dear reader), we departed with the provisional idea of meeting up and going for a meal together at Christmas. The joys of Facebook, eh?
That evening I went out to the Lair in order to play a Tal'Vorn game, which saw us all start as level 20 Sect Lords/Ladies...only it took us three to four hours to actually generate the darned characters, and therefore we didn't actually get chance to do any RPing. Not that it mattered, of course. We were all sociable, and I got to meet one or two people that I'd not previously met before. I managed to miss the last bus home, so Chris (who's back from York for a week or three) walked me home. All the way from the Rowditch to Mickleover, even though he lives about halfway between the two. We had a nice chat on the way back about different things. Ironically, I like him more now than I did when we were actually a couple.

Yesterday was spent writing, RPing, and cleaning my bedroom. Yes, dear reader, there is not a thing on my floor anymore. Go me. Granted, my bedside dressers are as cluttered as ever, but they're now cluttered in a tidy way...and I don't have anything down here that really ought to be upstairs. It took me a few hours, but my room does look a heck of a lot better. (Currently taking bets on how long this'll last for, -Chuckles-).
I'm pretty certain I'm babysitting this evening, but apparently they'll be in bed already when I get there, so it'll just be a case of me taking my laptop and making sure they're alright every half an hour. (I get paranoid and overprotective of the kids. Sue me.)Labels: Law, Line, Tal'vorn, Walking
