Fact of Life #9 - Letting hot tea go cold is a horrible, horrible waste.
-----
It's been almost a week since I last updated this. I can't really attribute that fact to much more than simply being busy, and when I'm not busy, being too tired to be able to write this up with anything resembling coherence. Since quite a bit has happened since the last entry, I'm going to have to keep things rather brief. So much the better for you, dear reader, eh?
First of all, I had my second Fencing lesson last Sunday (and thus, I have another one tomorrow), which I thoroughly enjoyed. I got complimented on my footwork a couple of times by the coaches, which rather pleased me. I tend to pick things up rather quickly...now it's just a case of doing some exercises to get myself some upper-body strength. I kept on having to stop and roll my shoulders around on Sunday. Something needs to be done about that. After fencing some of the group went to a place called 'The Old Library' which, despite its name, is actually a pub. We had dinner there and just sat around chatting for a couple of hours, which was great, since I was able to start getting to know some of the people in the society.
The Proteus Production on Tuesday was a good success. There were double to treble the amount of audience members as we'd anticipated we were going to get. I remembered all my lines and managed to get to the end without screwing up. It felt good to be able to perform something again, regardless of the fact that it was just a small piece. The next one is in a fortnights time, and I get to direct that one, which will be interesting.
Last Tuesday also saw me going to the first English Committee Meeting. They seemed pleased enough that I'd managed to get the website more or less up and running, and the rest of the meeting itself was great. We spoke about a number of different things, from the May Ball next year, to the design of the Hoodies.
Halloween yesterday was a fantastically good time. I bought myself 14 bandages from the chemist, and proceeded to go to Bex's birthday party as a mummy. I looked rather good, if I might say so myself. We all moved off to the Union at around 10pm or so, and Hannah and I didn't get home until around 4am. Fun times. I was picked to go up on stage to try and win an iPod...we had to bob for pieces of fruit in a tub of flour. "Get the lemon" says the DJ, so I manage to be the first person...to get an apple. Now, if it were 'How many apples can you bob from water in a minute' there'd be absolutely no contest whatsoever. I'm awesome at that...not necessarily with bandages around my face, but still.
Oh! And I've almost caught up with my backlog of work. Happy days.
