Fact of life #1 - The purple and blue sweets always taste the best.
Busy busy busy week this week. I'm actually using the Academic Diary I got for myself. (Shock! Horror! Let's see how long that lasts, shall we?) Lectures and Seminars started...as did the rather hefty amount of reading we now have to do. Both of the auditions I went to were absolute flops. I didn't get a callback for either, which was really disappointing until I got an email today from the director stating that my 'audition was one of the stronger ones', but she didn't think I could play a convincing enough promiscuous, lying, blunt-worded female in such a short time as we would've had to rehearse...Hm...now she puts it like that...Still, the few comments she gave me were helpful, so I'm at least going to try for other auditions...and I'd like to go and see both plays when they're actually put on.
I'm going back to Derby again this weekend (Saturday) in order to go to Big Meetup. Josh kindly asked me (re: harassed) to run a WHFRP game, and within a few hours of it being posted, all the places were full...which was nice to see. It does mean even more reading for me however, but I can live with that. It's all these pluperfect tenses and whatnot I'm reading up on for Old English that is causing me to be somewhat scared. (We have an exam in this module...-Gulp-)
So I'm currently sitting here, eating olives and drinking tea, reading the introduction to an Old and Middle English anthology. The first line has the word 'vernacular' in. 'Vernacular'...it sounds like some sort of disease, doesn't it? I only learned just what it meant a few days ago. Ah well...Better get back to the grind.
