When I say I'm busy to people these days, they just smile and nod. What I mean when I say that I'm busy, is that I'm actually busy. Hard to imagine me getting flustered about anything I know...and although it's not quite got to that stage yet, it's bubbling fairly close. Only a few weeks left at Uni, and 14 more lectures until the Christmas Holidays.
Talking of Christmas, I've been applying for jobs. 7 different applications have gone out...including an application to become a Christmas Elf at Santa's Grotto in Westfields. I grimaced at it and called it necessity to begin with, but now I'm rather looking forward to seeing if I get the job. It'd be a source of amusement, anyway.
On the 13th, I participated in something called 'To Write Love on her Arms', or 'TWLOHA'. It's a non-profit organisation over in America that is dedicated to offering support to those who suffer from depression and issues associated with it. I know I'm English, but raising awareness can never be a bad thing. Especially on this topic. I wrote it on my arms 14 times. For those readers who know what happened to me when I was 14, will see the correlation there.
Last Friday (15th) I went home for the weekend to see my grandparents, and to attend a family gathering for my grandad's 70th birthday. I can't believe he's that age. He doesn't look it, and he certainly doesn't act his age...which is a great thing, I think. My nana's 70 next June...and the mind boggles more at that. When I think of what my grandparents have done and achieved, and how they are now...it kinda makes me wish that I'll at least be half the people they are. I've got a lot of growing to do.
From then to now, it's mostly just been a case of catching up with work. The questions for the Renaissance finally went up yesterday, and I've actually managed to pick the question and the texts I'd like to look at. It'll be a difficult one I think, but certainly rewarding if I get a grade that corresponds with the effort I put into it. I plan on actually using the library at some point.Labels: Birthday, Christmas, Elf, Renaissance, TWLOHA
